A large portion of the RATS travelled up to Splatbrothers to play in the final RAW Series game of the year; Monte Cassino. Playing
under the leadership of Jet, from Team Bebop, as the Germans, the RATS assisted other great teams like Merc, TSSOC, Assault &
Battery, The Spartans and Affliction in securing a solid victory.

The American forces, lead by Spike, ironically also from Team Bebop, showed exceptional sportsmanship and determination in the
face of our relentless attack. Thanks for all the teams there who contributed to a great game.

This game also marked Shank and Matt's (formerly Splatnator, with a new call-sign forthcoming) return to playing alongside of the
RATS. Welcome back to the both of you!

The RATS have played in two separate one-day games in the last couple of weeks. The first one was Operation Cedar Falls: HEAT
held at WolfCreek Paintball in Star, NC on July 19th. This game was produced by Ferg from Command Decisions. Wolf creek is a nice
field with a fair amount of structure and variations of terrain which is definitely worth checking out. The RATS played on the side of the
US Army under the leadership of Wingman from Team Tango Alpha.

We had a great time but in the end, the Vietcong and NVA were successful in winning the day. Weather for the day was a mixed bag.
It started off pretty dang hot and about lunch time turned in to a torrential downpour. The rain let up around 3PM to allow the game to
run to completion. The final antics of the day involved the defeated Americans singing the National Anthem to commemorate the loss.

Oh August 9th, the RATS travelled to a completely new field; Paintball Virgina. This was a fairly small game with about 60-70 players
but that didn't keep the game from being very competitive. Players hailed from teams included Rogue Cell, the River Rats, Shadow
Group, BR Wolverines, Recon-1, Lost Boys along with a sampling of walk-ons.

The RATS had originally signed up to play for Energy Corp under the leadership of Werewolf from Rogue Cell, but switched to support
the Rebels to help balance the teams. Working with the River RATS under the leadership of Red Line, we ran mission after mission.
Team work from everyone on the Rebels was excellent and in the end, we prevailed.

This is was truly a great game! PBVa, has an excellent field that is mostly virgin woods with a smattering of bunkers and one fort.
While this game only included a small portion of the entire field, PBVa has over 90 acres available for use. Keep an eye on this field for
event listings and make a point of trying to get up there to play.

AARs and discussions on both of these events can be found over at CarolinaPaintballers.com.

Sometimes paintballers just don't know when to NOT play. Case in point: MistaKen, RaleighPaintball and Severe decided to head out
to Paintball Central's big game F.E.A.R. regardless of near record heat! This was the first production of Otto, from Team Krisis, and
everything went extremely well except for Mother Nature's cooperating. The game started off with close to 100 players, but with the
heat running near that and a heat index of nearly 105 degrees, many of the smarter players called it a day early.

PBC has a great field on their hands and it's recommended that everyone check them out. Especially if you like a nice selection of
thick woods, creeks and small to medium structures but want to step up to some speedball also.

By the time the final battle rolled around, player count was down around 40, or so. Otto made a quick adjustment to his plans and
moved the final battle to the 'Mounds Field'. This unique field provided a great final battle and ended the exhausting day on a high note.

The RATS turned out to support a last second appointment of Mars as the Commanding Officer of the Vong for Bebop's production of
Dead-Force Arise at Black River. RaleighPaintball stepped in to assist as the Executive Officer.

The game was based on the Star Wars universe and included such icons as R2-D2 and the Skywalker twins. The New Republic team
was lead by Lufen of Team Bebop and his XO, Jag06. By all accounts, the game was another excellent production by Jet and the rest
of Bebop Productions.

May 17th/18th, 2008
The RATS played the MPP production of Operation Cobra: Patton Rolls at Command Decisions War Center. This game was great
because we had friends on both sides and it was a relatively small game with just over 200 players. According to Ferg, of CDWC, only
a handful of those players were walk-on and the rest were team affiliated.

Under the command leadership of Werewolf from Rogue Cell and his XO, Otto from Team Krisis, the RATS, along Goblin of Team
O.M.E.N. and many other new friends, ended up stomping all over the Command Decisions field running missions. This has been said
about the Splatbrothers Parc, but Command Decisions is another one of those fields you owe it to yourself to play. There's only one
catch...everything is UP HILL! Seriously!

In the end, the RATS brought home the Most Valuable Team award for the German team, our second for the year. Unfortunately the
Germans did not prevail in the end, but thanks to everyone who played or was involved in it's production for another great game.

MistaKen and Severe attended Splatbrother's 1-day Real American War (RAW) Series game based on the Civil War Battle of Malvern
Hill. Roughly 500 players attended and it was another great event RAW Series game. The RATS supported Confederates in their drive
to victory over the Union. If you haven't played a RAW Series game at the Splatbrothers Parc, you're missing out!

Mistaken also recently played his first Castle Conquest at EMR. He had nothing but good things to say about that event and
encourages everyone to give it a shot at least once.

Several of the RATS attended the Bebop Productions of The Battle of Wilmington at Black River Paintball. The After Action Reports
(AARs) posted over on CarolinaPaintballers.com all describe a great day of paintball. Stop by and check them out.

The RATS just completed the Day of the Immortals game held at Splatbrothers Paintball in Hopewell, Va. This was one of those
games where you were amazed you were there. It was either raining or misting the entire time. Of course this meant the field was a
complete muddy mess. None the less, we had a great time supporting the Elites against the Immortals.

Unfortunately, in the end, the Immortals triumphed. We had a great time running along side the other teams of the Elites: Anarchy,
Assault & Battery, Bebop, Black Wolf Core, Capital Offense, Enterprise, MERCS, Sova and others.

March 22nd, 2008
Wolfcreek Paintball, located in Star, NC, hosted it's first independently produced scenario game. Severe ended up attending solo to
check out the field for future events. Severe ran along side of the Rogues and played on the side of the Columbian Goverment. Other
teams in attendence included ODX, The Wolverines, The River RATS, Team Boxer, Recon 1, along with many more.

The field was very nice with lots of potential for growth. The game itself had some 'hiccups' which can easily be resolved before their
next event. With a little effort, Wolfcreek looks to be another excellent field supporting the local NC big and scenario game scene.

A handful of RATS travelled up to Splatbrothers to participate in their second Real American War (RAW) Series game based on
Operation Market Garden. We played on the side of the Germans under the leadership of Mushroom from Assault and Battery while
playing along side of Anarchy, A&B, Black Knights, Team Krisis, Rogue Cell, and many others.

Much like the original Operation Market Garden, the allies had a dreadful time trying to hold field position. In the end, the Germans
decisively defeated the Americans.

February 16th/17th, 2008
The RATS have just returned from the final MXS game, Siege of Stormwynd, which was held at the Camp Blanding MOUT facility in
Starke, Fl. It was an amazing weekend of great paintball and perhaps one of the hardest fought games we've played in some time. We
played on the side of the Horde which was tasked with laying siege the Alliance stronghold of Stormwynd. The format of the game
gave the entire MOUT facility to the Alliance team forcing the Horde to attempt to take each building.

After running numerous missions and supporting the Horde any way we could, the RATS managed to bring home the Most Valuable
Team
(MVT) award for the Horde team. Huge thanks to all those teams who played along side of us, especially those teams who are
part of the Splatbrothers family of teams. A very special thanks to everyone who played as a member of the NC Coalition; Team
O.M.E.N., Team Krisis and Lethal Injection! The integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship and camaraderie was second to none!

There will be a change to the roster shortly. The RATS would like to welcome aboard Mars, Vicious and Decker.

Black River paintball, and Bebop productions, held their second version of the Battle of the Bulge. RaleighPaintball.com volunteered for
the XO position for the Americans defending against a two-pronged assault that was being XO'd by Otto of Team Krisis. Participating
RATS included; Ares, Lurker, Mistaken, MWR, RaleighPaintball.com and Severe. At the end of the day, after some very hard fought
battles, the Americans emerged triumphant. RP was awarded the MVP award for his contribution as XO by the American General,
Buddha.

As part of an effort to introduce new players to big games and scenario play, the RATS gave away, on behalf of RAP4, a Young Gun
Award. This award was given to a random player under 14 years of age who had played with a rental. Alan West, 12 yrs old, was the
lucky winner. The package consisted of an Empire Paintball backpack, JT Goggles, Pirranah GTI marker, a 3+2 pod pack, squeegy, a
RAP4 hat and a RAP4 barrel condom. It's our sincere hope that Alan will continue to enjoy paintball!

Four RATS; Ares, Focus, Maximus and Severe traveled down to Adventure Beach Paintball for the Operation Urgent Fury game. While
the weather wasn't the best, the game was great. After all was said and done, they brought home a victory and the MVT award for the
PRA under the leadership of Bushwacker from team Shadow Group.
Welcome to the home of Team RATS. We are predominately a scenario paintball team based out of the Raleigh, North Carolina.

However, Team RATS are more than just scenario paintball team. We are a group of friends who genuinely enjoying playing paintball
together. Most of us started out playing recreational paintball together at Action Tagg which was located in Garner, NC. After 'Tagg
closed in December of 2005, our wanting to play together has grown in to a passion for playing big game and scenario paintball events
all over the east coast. While playing paintball is important to us, we also look forward to the camping, food, travel and fellowship
associated with our hobby/sport. Our motto is, "Some teams travel, we DEPLOY!"

We value the fun of the game and a strong sense of integrity and fair play. We are the players you will find encouraging our
teammates to participate; to get in the fight. We can also be found helping the other team if we think it will benefit the overall game.
We are definitely vocal in performing both. ;)

We lead from the front and by example.

We believe in expanding our hobby by demonstrating good sportsmanship, camaraderie and encouraging new players to get involved
in scenario paintball and explore the hobby/sport as a whole. We strive to be the proverbial ambassadors to scenario paintball.

It is our intention to be able to provide visitors the opportunity to learn more about us and the hobby/sport we currently love.
